89 Vert Throttle Lag

Help!!!! Just swapped engines and have a major throttle lag. Everything was working before the swap when I lost the rotor seal. Got an engine from a 90 GTU. Starts fine. Idles smooth . Seems to run great, BUT if I give it over 1/2 throttle it dogs. Ease on the throttle and it will spool up to red line. Driving it does the same thing. I had a failure which disabled the secondary injectors once, but the engine topped out at 4,500 RPM. I can run to redline in lower gears, and ease to 70 in 5th, so the secondaries are working. Now the wierd part. I disconnect the battery to clear the codes. Start the engine - all is fine. Put it in gear and ease away. No problem. First time I give it throttle, the check engine light comes on. Stop. Shut down. Connect code jumper, turn on and read codes and I get NOTHING. Off 1 second, then back on continuous. Code 0. No problem. WTF?????? I'm pretty sure the secondaries aren't kicking in to give the gas I need to accelerate, but what would cause this? Already checked all connectors, and the engine was running fine when pulled.

You might want to jumper the diagnostic jumper so that the light flashes the code to you the instant it gets the code.

Other then the check engine light: I dont know if I read your problem right, but how is your fuel pressure?

Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Didn't check the fuel pressure since the filter is only about a year old and everything was cool with the old engine 'till it died and was pulled, then upon restart with the new one it does this, but I'll give a quick look.

I didn't know you could get instant read out. Is that what happens if I leave the jumper grounded and then drive???? I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
