Is 89 vert automatic rare?

Hey I wanted to know if an 89 automatic rare? Also it has 97,000 and is selling for $4000 is that a fair price? I would rather buy a stick. Any feedback if the sticks are better or automatics or if even if the price should be the same for both?
Need all your info.
Thanks

They might be hard to find, but keep on looking for a manual RX-7. You'll regret buying an automatic...trust me on this. An automatic and rotary engine don't really mix IMO.

The only good thing about the vert autos is they have a 4.1 rear unlike the coupe autos which have a 3.9

The NA auto sucks too much power in comparison to the TII auto (only in Japan).

Basically, you take a heavy car like the Vert (3100 lbs). Toss in a 146-160 HP engine and use a power-sucking, bad gear ratio automatic tranny...and you're stuck with the slowest of the RX-7s.

Convertibles are no big speed demons, but with a stick you can have the potential to accelerate quicker. However, if the car is in excellent shape and you don't want the hassle of shifting gears then pick up the car. Convertibles are more for cruising or handling than straight line speed...if you buy it I think you might be quite happy. I wouldn't though, me left foot and right hand get bored easily in an automatic car.
