89+ PD...can they leak?

And looking at an 89+ pulsation dampner...it looks like they could leak just as easily as the 86-88's.. If that lil rubber stopper thing at the end came out. If the diafragm ruptures, is that rubber stopper really going to hold back some 50psi of gasoline?

Of course anything's possible, but the design of the 86-88's PD made it a common thing. I've heard of a 89+ and even a third gen having a PD related fire but those incidents are very far and few between.
