Exclamation 89 gxl weird problem!!!

ok i have an 89 gxl. it starts fine, and while its cold it drives fine for about 2 minutes. then after that every time i give it gas it sounds like there if too much air or too little fuel. i replaced the afm, throttle position sensor, and the ecu and changed out the cat and muffler...... nothing. it idles fine and it drives ok if you keep it under 2-3000 rpms. anything over that it sounds horrible. backfires, loses power and just drives like pure ****. ohh and i checked the compression its fine also. my guess is a sensor of some kind... can anybody help me please post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

clean your connections for your tps, also check your pressure sensor(by the intake on passenger side) clean its connectors too, if that dosent work then start checking for vac leaks.

That started happening with an s4 I bought this past fall. It was the TPS plug. Spray a little WD-40 or even brake fluid into the plug and then rapidly connect and disconnect it a few times to try to scrape off the metal. Doing that ended the problem for me on the spot.
