89-91 taillight conversion

Hey guys, Just thought i might be able to generate a bit of interest here

For those Series IV guys who want the sweet look of the newer taillights, it's a piece of cake to modify your car to make them fit.

You first remove your old lights, there are 8 10mm nuts for each light. Unplug the harness, there are 2 plugs.

You will want to cut a 2 inch diameter half circle into the body, the edge closest to the licence plate. do this on each side. It is necessary because the backup light on the series V tail lights portrudes into this space.

You can grind it out, or use a dremel, or bang the hell outta it with a hammer. I used a dremel. Make sure to cover the exposed metal with a paint primer to prevent rust from forming.

Install the taillights, they plug right in.

Ta da!

Here's a pic of mine finished:

NOW, I have a pair of these for sale, $250 shipped to your door. THis includes the licence plate bracket that is hard to find. You can modify your old one, but it's an additional hassle.

These lights are perfect for updating your series IV car to the newer look.

Shoot me an email @ jameson@huckaba.com.

thanks,
Jameson

Might i remind you all, this thread is over 2 years old. Someone bumped it because they don't know what to do with the license plate bracket.

And since it's a poorly disguised attempt at selling something, it's also closed.
