Question 88se Wont Run

I was over at my buddys house yesterday and we took out his 88se and at one point when we were on the highway we lost all power right out of the blue, it was like hitting a brick wall or losing the 5th and 6th ports. We then turn around and headed back to his house the whole way back he had to give it gas so it wouldnt die and we wernt able to take it above 4grand.

We were really at a lose, he had jst got it back from mazda, where they swaped a new tranny and clutch in. Then we drove my gtu up to autozone to get sum new plugs and wires, hoping it would help cause his were pretty badand needed to be done anyways. After we installed them we had to unflood the car, which wasnt working so we had to push start it. Once it was running again it was still running like ****, not being able to hold an idle and was reving/running extremely rough. It sounds like its missing all threw the rev range.

Anybody have any ideas, this engine only has 20,000 on it since the rebuild, has a newly installed tranny and clutch, along with new plugs and wires, the ports seems to be opening fine, and yes the wires are hooked to the right plugs BUT the way its drving is jst like it would if the wires were hooked up wrong but we checked and checked again and they are hooked up right so... What do ya think?

ya havnt checked comp yet, probably doing that tonight, no CEL either. Ive been reading threw a few posts and its looking like its going to be an apex seal. Found quite a few people with the exact same symptoms and it ended up being a seal. i guess we will find out tonight.

God i hope i dont blow a seal in my car, i have 90,000 on my 90GTU is there anyway to help extend the life of your seals, cause im coming up on the mileage when things start to go wrong and rebuilds usally occur. Is it jst the luck of the draw, cause some people can go up to 200,000 miles and not break **** and other blow a seal and need a rebuild at 70,000??
