hey wayne thanks for the reply. I just replace the fuel filter (the one thats as big as the car, but no diffrence. Its an 88 and as far as i know the injectors are original. it didnt start doing this until after it flooded and i put in a cut off switch, connected under the dash near the steering, got the info of the net for this. Iam gonna ck out the connections i made today just to make sure its not something i did there. Other than that its a good car. i bought it from a frien who had let it sit for a yr. I cleaned it up and was running good until it flooded and then it took me a month to find out how to unflood it, been cutting out ever since.

Does it cut when you are just idling in the garage ?

Does it cut when taking a turn ?

Does it cut then stall or does it cut, you let go off the throttle and then it picks back up ?

You say it started happening when you put in the switch. Double check what you did. Yellow plug under dash, I think B/W needs to be spliced. Could be a coincidence though

man, you wouldn't believe the problems that disappeared when I changed out the injectors (for now I just put the secondaries into the primary position 'till I can send out the set of four I've got to be cleaned). Fuel injector cleaner totally screwed everything up!!! I had to fix the inlet fuel filter (in my own way...), the main filter, and change the injectors to get it running again. If your injectors are original, swap 'em out. If you don't have replacements, swap the secondaries into the primary positions for now, short term, to see if it'll make a difference

Hugues- it sounds crazy, but mine started acting up soon after I put in the cutout switch, too... I think letting the engine die while drinking all the fuel left vapors in the injectors that somehow "varnished" 'em up...Like I said, sounds crazy

Yes it cuts out at idle,no on turns, doesnt stall (die), havent tried letting off throttle, dose seem to do better if i run it hard(hotrod it) I did cut the wrong wire first but reconnected it. Injectors being varnished maybe a possibility. Again thanks all will try these things

may wanna check if the fuel pressure at idle is according to specs also. See FSM for that.
