88' Vert Running Hott???

was just reading Aaron cakes suggestions for new rx7 drivers and he states that for these year cars 86-88 n/a that the temperature guage should read at 1/4 when fully warmed up. im just thinking about my driving temps. according to the guage and Im pretty sure my guage reads temps. at 1/2... is the car running too hott?
I remember i was at Mr. Lube getting an oil change in the summer and the guy told me that my radiator could use a flushing from what their test was telling them, i just shrugged it off because i thought he was just trying to squeeze some cash out of me but now im thinking he may have been right.
what exactly occurs when they flush your radiator? is this suggested? anything else?
and once again, does it sound like the car is running too hott?
thank you

when you flush the radiator, it cleans out most of the stuff that could have built up..yes, my S4 always ran at 1/4, if that...But I know the S5s run at 1/2...May be normal, and your guage is just off

dont think radiator has ever been flushed

i have all the work records from new and dont think its been done. is it recommended? what do they do to tell if it needs to be flushed or not and what do they use to flush it? So flushing gets the radiator back to newish condition? if im running just a stock setup a simple fush should be enough?
thxs.

you could try it...you are really supposed to flush your cooling system about once every year...

On two separate cars, both of the water pumps failed within a week of having hte radiator flushed... Maybe it loosens up some sort of debris and damages the water pump... ?? From now on, I will only replace radiators instead of fixing/flushing them.

Probably another is necessary, sizable, a radiator!
At me overheats at 250 km/h up to the maximal temperature, at temperature of air -4 C

I have flushed my radiator many times with no ill effects. It is "supposed" do be done once a year as mentioned above. It is not that hard to do. It many not be the cause of your problem, but I don't think it could hurt, PJ may dissagree with that though.
