The fuel gauge should not have been touched by the swap so you have just a standard RX7 problem there.

What transmission do you have and does it accept a cable driven speedo?

What causes the fuel gauge to not work and would the swap have affected my power windows?

First of all, what kind of "Chevy 350" do you have.
T-56's are six speed boxes, perhaps you have a T-5?

There is very little interface between the Chevy's ECU harness and the FC's chassis harness, nothing about the swap should have interfered with the basic functions (like power windows).

Sounds to me like your car had all sorts of electrical issues before the swap occurred and who knows what the previous owner(s) have done.

Does the car run and have you any pics?

yes it does run, and drives fantastic, so yeah maybe a t-5 liek i said not sure but it is 5 speed.

and no pic of phases of swap but a finished pic is all, its clean runs fine just those minor issues, ( fuel gauge, speedo and windows every thing else works.

and as for the 350 thats all i know i can have my dad tell me more tomorrow but for now thats all i know, i believe its h/o though def from a camaro

Have you owned a FC previously?

I'm pretty sure that the T-5 will not run a cable drive for the speedo.
It's set up for a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which requires an electronic speedo.
Probably the most common work around for that is to graft an Acura electronic speedo into the FC gauge cluster and use a Digital Dakota box to condition the signal.

Even easier- albeit more expensive- would be to get a SpeedHut GPS speedo, which requires no signal from the trans at all.

The fuel gauge is easily diagnosed because it's a dead simple circuit.
In the cluster, the gauge gets +12v (and if your other gauges work, you can be pretty sure the fuel gauge is getting power) and the sending unit in the tank is just a variable ground.
Only one wire travels from the cluster to the fuel tank (not sure what this is in a S4, in the S5 it's W/G), it'll be one of the four wires in the bulkhead connector.
Check that connector well, it also carries power to the fuel pump.

The power windows are a common FC issue, search and a bunch of info will appear.

You can download the factory service manual here.

There is a forum devoted specifically to swapped Rx's here, norotors.

Norotors is your best bet for info about the swap itself and anything related to the interface with Mazda stuff and here is best for purely FC related issues (the damn window switches).

And I'd like to see any pictures you might have of the finished product.
