They are both 4.10's, however the Sport has a 7" ring gear and an open differential, while the TII has a stronger 8" ring gear and a limited slip differential.

Use a TII rear end.

Get a 4.3 from a GTUs, or just find any other N/A LSD, unless of course you are serious about your turbo swap, and actually plan on making any decent ammount of power, in which case dump all the money into a TII rear/halfshafts/driveshaft

He could convert to an entire TII rear (driveshaft/dif/halfshafts) for that much money, maybe even including the R trans if he can find it local.

It's not all too easy to find a tranny, driveshaft, starter, differential, flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder, and halfshafts for $350, though, he could always use the TII diff and that custom driveshaft, which depending upon the source would range around $300 all said and done, which is pretty close.

He only has a N/A pumpkin, someone jacked the T2 Rear Pumpkin' before he bought the car.. so it will be N/A (87 sport) rear with custom driveshaft..
