I need to get a new front windshield for my 88 Turbo II, does the windshield have an antenna?

yes, but you can go with the cheaper windshield if you are not using the stock radio or a radio with the diversity antenna.

Why is there a antenna in the back of the car then?

A "diversity tuner" is a radio that uses multiple antennae, and selects the one that is currently receiving the strongest signal. The stock RX-7 radios have "diversity tuners". Hence, two antennae.

except for the strippy models, they only have the rear antenna.

Thanks, I think I am getting the non-antenna one since the factory sterio is not working anyways. Might get a single dash CD player later.

AH HA!!!!!!

That's why my aftermarket radio reception sucks in the TII. Now I just have to figure out which one to plug it into.

Thanks everyone.

The "normal" antenna plug runs to the windshield antenna, IIRC, while the "other" one runs to the rear...

I got my put in by a local store for $230 with no antenna. It does however cover the tax and installation.

Easy -and only- fix: go to a windshield shop (dont know what you call them), and have them re-glue it all around. Doesnt cost too much, and is a permanent and sure fix...
