I'd spray some wd40 or something on the vac lines or anywhere that air is being sucked in through. If nothing changes, I'd swap out the tps.

Or maybe it has something to do with the throttle body, like where the throttle assembly is. Just a few ideas.

Make sure your throttle cable is tight. I know on mine it won't stay tight causing it not to idle

well my would start and shutoff unless i revved to 2500rpm and i found outi had a bad Iat sensor (intake air temperateure) and a bad connection on the thermal sensor(located on the back of the water pump).

I fixed both those and it was fine.

You will want to set your tps to 1 volt with the key on and the car not running.

I still have not got my bac valve to operate but I am hoping to fix that in the future.

The car will idle with no cable attached.
Idle speed is not determined by cable tension.

hey guys i actually found some vacuum leaks and i found cracks on the intake tube that is letting in UNMETERED air after the MAF... also i noticed the O2 sensor wire is missing .... would any of these have a factor with it not idleing ? ....oh and i checked and set my tps at 1 volt

the un metered air will definitely affect your cars idle and make it not want to idle and will require you to raise the idle higher to compensate

you'll need to replace or repair the item that's cracked.

I'll just assume this is a rhetorical question.

Because, duh.

hey guys just an update, i fixed all the vacuum leaks and the unmetered air leaks. set my tps and checked my egr. and it still doesn't idle. im yet to find the wire that i suppose to go to my o2 sensor.... would not having a o2 reading make it not idle??? i thought OBD1 didnt care out O2 readings....
also i suspect a fuel pressure issue...maybe the pleasure regulator is bad?
im really frustrated with this...

You would have to pull codes using a pair of LED lights to see if the ECU is recognizing the unconnected sensor but the Oxygen sensor is not used for idling purposes. You also might have clogged primary injectors. Your AFM might be the culprit as well.

have you checked and tested the air control valve? they have been known to fail. you will also want to check the wiring to and test your coolant temp sender and water temp switch.
