The relay should click when you turn the key in the ignition. Bad ignition switch perhaps?
That sound may be the BAC.
Not sure what the plug is without a picture. Maybe the oil sender ground? Does not need to be connected if so. There should only be three wires to the starter. Nothing is required to plug into the transmission for it to run.
Search the forum for the fuel pump rewire write up.

O yea , I knew the tranny didnt need anything plugged into it for it to run, just thinking it might go to some kind of sensor or something. Ill look up the rewire tommorrow. Thanks again Ncross.
