Is the window regulator broken?

So my passenger window switch on the driver side broke off. I was able to still get it to work though and it worked for a while. Last week the window stopped working. I followed the write up in the archives and cleaned the contacts and removed the door panel. I was also able to get the window to go back up by connecting the motor harness contacts to a wire that was attached to the battery. The window went up but I can't get it to move with the switches at all. Does this mean the window regulator is broken or is it something else? Note: the drivers side window still works perfectly.

I would say the switch is to blame since the motor worked fine when you jumped it.

Try replacing the switch first, the regulators are very expensive.
