88 na no pulse on rear injector
88 na no pulse on rear injector
so my son drags this 88 fc home. its been sitting up 2 or 3 years, we clean the gas tank ,new filters ,plugs and poof cranks and runs on front rotor . I have compression and spark on rear but no injector pulse . I'm thinking ecu [anyone?]
It could be the ECU, but unless you have a spare to test it with you can rule out the injector or wiring by:
*checking for 12v at the rear rotor primary injector pin to rule out a wiring problem. See FUEL AND EMISSIONS section in FSM (FAQ) for the pins.
*remove the intakes and apply 12v/Ground to injector and listen for a click. Then pressurize the fuel system (jump yellow test connector), key ON and take note of the spray pattern if any.

Are you checking the primary rear injector or secondary rear injector? I think the secondaries dont fire on start up. Also, make you plug in the injector clips to the right injectors. Otherwise you will be punching yourself in the face later on...
Buy a LED from Radio Shack. Put the LED red lead into the small plugs wire on the far left that is black/white. Put the other LED lead into the fuel injector wires socket.
Crank the engine over. The LED will blink if the injector and ECU are working.
Clarification: you would bare the ends of the LED wires and shove them up the backside of where the respective wires enter the plug so they would make contact with the wire/contact inside the plug. It is the small plug on a series four ECU.
