TX 88 gxl, purchase, or not?

I'm looking to get a new fc just because. I'm looking at one now for 750. It's been sitting for ten years and is completely dead. The engine doesn't catch a spark with new ngk spark plugs and a new fuel pump. The interior is pretty decent for it to be an 88, just some rain damage from the window being down for ten years. I'm still not sure if I should buy this or not. Any suggestions? Thanks.

if the engine wont turn over, and your fine with having it rebuilt and/or waiting awhile, and the chassis is rust free and straight then get it.
and turbo that bitch!

How much damage did the rain cause? If it's rained in, I highly doubt that it's rust free.

^ Rain+window down = Rusted floor board. I can almost bet it has one side rusted out. My vert had rusted floor board behind the driver seat and it barely leaked water.

that guy should pay you 750 bucks for it. Cuz Im sure it will cost more than 750 to fix the rust (if its even fixable)

Yea ... rust will be an issue. Not to mention that the engine will need rebuilt due to dry rotted seals.

I'd probably consider that a parts car. You should be able to find something a lot nicer for not a lot more money.

sounds like a waste, if it was in running condition i would say it would be considerable but rust damage is a pita to fix.

Coolant seals are gone along with the floorboard. Project car for sure.

If you can buy a really nice FC for 3,000 why would you pay $750 for a complete POS that will take $5,000 and a million hours to make nice again?

+1

thats what i did with my 7. I spent 3.5k on mine, but the interior and exterior were great for being 20 years old.
