I am looking at a 88 gtu to buy its dirt cheap and a clean shell but i need it to be running as i wont have another car. The owner says it idles fine, but backfires a little more than normal and has trouble revving and will sputter and die eventually.

Has anyone had this problem before? TPS, Maf, FPR? Ecu?
