88 Air solenoid wiring

Noticed one of the wires leading to the plug on the air solenoid had severed. I want to do something about it, I'm just not sure what. I have 3 options:

1. Replace the solenoid with another one that has a good connector.
Not sure where I would go to even buy one of these. Maybe Rhinehart has one kicking around

2. Try to fix the existing wiringNot sure where to even begin with this. As you can see in the pictures below, soldering/splicing isn't easy because it broke off right at the solenoid

3. Delete the solenoid.
What are the downsides to this? From what I understand, the solenoid is part of the AWS and is just there to add extra air during the 15 second high idle, then is shut off afterward. I don't have the AWS connected anyway. Would I lose anything by just getting rid of this?

Any advice/thoughts here would be much appreciated. Below are pictures of the solenoid:

The AWS is also used to add air for power steering and AC idle load.
Try it for a while and you can delete if you don't notice any adverse effects.

I ended up repairing mine. Same situation, both wires broke in the same spot as yours. It won't go back together as pretty as you took it apart though. Don't bother trying to get it out of the metal mounting sleeve. It's just a completely sealed plastic coil underneath, so there's nothing to get at (mine's pretty ugly after getting it back together). The only thing you can get to is the rubber figure-8 grommet where your wire is already broken. I worked/cut that out to where I could get inside a little bit. Keep in mind that the wire stubs are just as fragile as the rest. I cut off the bad section of wire on the pigtail and made a new, longer, little grommet. I slid that on the pigtail and soldered the wires onto the stubs. I then slid the new grommet down and RTV'd it in place with a little extra for strain relief. Works just fine. If I had to do it again, I would use my 3d printer, which I didn't have at that time, to make the new grommet/strain relief stick out further, or be compliant in different places on the wire to take stress of the new solder joints.

This issue is fixable with a little bit of patience.
