88 air mass sensor

so i found a decent deal on the k&n filter charger kit for my 88- my question is rotating the air mass box- if i rotate it clockwise a quarter turn i can get a better clearance for a home-made cold air box- but will that mess up the sensor? all suggestions welcome
just signed up and this forum is great! thanks for any input!

OK, this is the third time I’ve typed this out because of the damn “server is too busy” ****. I press the back button and my damn post’s disappeared! WTF!
Anyway...
Yes, tilting the air flow meter will screw up its readings, because its now being affected by gravity. Leave it level. If you make a custom turbo inlet duct, you’ll be able to move the AFM and filter to where you want, plus it’ll boost performance.

The only 2 positions that seem to work ok for the AFM are with the plug facing the driver's side ("level"), or with the plug on top ("counterclockwise 1/4 turn, I believe). I use the plug on top position for my Bonez air intake, and it works without any problems. Level also works, but I can't mount it properly.
