87 Turbo II Build
Well today is the day, I started the long but hopefully not too long build of my FC. My plans are to port, hx35 turbo, standalone (un-decided on which one) 2mm apex seals, nice fmic or vmount, tial wastegate, and clutch. It has 1,000cc injectors now and not sure what the other 2 are, also unsure about what fuel pump is in it. So depending on what the injectors are and the fuel pump may need to upgrade those as well. This is my first build on my own and my goal is 4-500whp. Will be a weekend car, I've read that a bridgeport maybe overkill for those numbers but honestly i love the choppy idle and would rather have too much then not enough and have to pull the motor again next yr. Half bridge I've heard mix reviews and street port is the more reliable of them right? Any input, tips, thoughts from experienced guys is greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Here are some pics from today.

WV is and will always be my home. but them panhandle guys either belong to PA or MD, its like driving into a different state, kinda like driving out of a beautiful WV state forest into VA and seeing 6 cars on blocks and a burnt out looking hoe right past the sign that says radar detectors are illegal.

Update
Welp thought I'd have more to show but never fails when working on a car. Found out that the motor has been opened before and that the bolt on the flywheel apparently was put on with frkn jb wield. Not really but we tried everything getting it off, I split a 2-1/8 socket in half so we built a, what i thought was heavy duty, wrench thing and it eventually bent. Soo at a stand still until I get another socket. Figured I'd put this up and give you guys a good laugh. Little redneck engineering.

I got the Mobile Truck wheel Repair guy to come over and zip off and put the flywheel nut back on!
In town service and friendly as hell..20 bucks!
Now I'm out of town so I rigged up some tools.Big *** breaker bar and 54mm socket, customized home-made flat steel flywheel stopper w/19mm socket for the front pulley. Also works as a flywheel remover.
Seems I am the only one that can get the damn things off around here as I get guys Pming and calling me to either borrow the tools or come over and take the darn part off!

You need to stop the flywheel from turning in order to get a good torque on the Flywheel nut.
Use a piece of chain and put it on a bolt(top passenger side).
Then put the chain to a Pressure plate bolt.
Turn the flywheel until it stops.
THEN go at it with the "super-duper flywheel remover"..lol.!
I could usually get it off with an electric impact,BUT if it is really stuck I go to the 42 inch breaker bar and socket...then if it is Still on,I use a fence post extension..heh..
They go "ping"..and you go "wtf?.did I break sumethin??..!..Loosened nut..Ta-da!

I worked at Hibdon Tire in Chandler Oklahoma during the summer of 2000 and my dad and the owner showed me how to remove an 18 wheeler wheel.
They handed me this gigantic impact gun and warned me to spread me feet out and crouch down to take the force. I was like "okay cool, I got this!" pulled the trigger and that sucker flipped me over and I landed on my back. I was hurt pretty bad but determined and so my dad and my boss both held onto me for the second try.
To my defense, I was not a wimp, the impact gun was like a 1200 lb-ft impact gun that weighed over 100 pounds. It's like handing a kid a 12ga shotgun telling them it is a .22.

Sucks that i cant work on the rx7 more often, its at my parents because my other "race car" is in the garage at my home and cant have a bunch of vehicles chillin in the driveway because of HOA bs. The interior is in really good condition.. i thought about gutting it and doing a cage and using it as a drift/track car but i can't bring myself to ruin it.
