87 TII v. GS-T eclipse?

Hey guys, my friend has a 95 gst eclipse with an APEX catback and he wants to run me. I only have an intake on my TII. What am I looking at here?

Show no mercy man, tell him you will take him on a cornering match, GSTs create mad understeer and are a heavy front loader. You should kick his *** even if you grip drive and don't drift.

It will be a dead stop 1/4 mile race. Thats what we always do, lol. Does anyone know how much these weigh and how much HP they have? Also what kind of boost do they run stock? Thanks.

He will beat you and not because of HP, because its a GSX...We'll kill you off the line. They launch real good. But that doesn't mean I like them...<grin> If you can get out of the whole you might have a chance because of the weight issue...Good luck

Its a GS-T, not GSX. Its fwd, not awd. I plan to take him out of the hole actually. I can take my friends 300 TT out of the hole.

hey gefunk, a towing package ain't so bad. you can get a teeny trailer and keep a set of tires and toolbox on it for going racing. There's JUST enough room to get a full set of 225/50 16's into the trunk though.

Aww noo....FF format vs a FR format, didn't say GSX, said GS-T. I still think you have a good chance of winning, however, if you wana drag and destroy your car just give it to me, I will drift it to victory You want it, you got it, send me 100 dollars

Hard to say....becareful he could have turned up the boost on u and u not know.....but other than that it should be a good race.....it might come down to the actual drivers of the cars.......good lanuch, good shifting....etc......but let us know if u go through with it and the results....good luck....

tough to say...they run like identical 1/4 times...

i think the GS-T weighs in around 2900...your T2 is prob a little less. they run double the stock boost our cars do, but thats no biggie...they can't handle the CFM of the rotary...good luck dooooooood

those cars are slowwww, only the first gens you need to worry about, they are the quick ones... the 2nd gens have little turbos, and crappy plastic bov's. they make 210 hp but will have the disadvantage of the ff, and your friends most likely inability to not spin the tires off the line...

should be a cakewalk provided your cars not seeing any of the stupid bugs mine is and is runnin in good shape...

granted it doesnt have a 14g or the better quality blow off valve , none the less its a 210HP turbocharged car . the cat-back is good for a lil more power .

im gonna have to agree .. this is gonna come down to the driver , given the cars are both mechanically sound . since its a buddy of yours , do a best of 5 series and see who win the series .... it sounds close on paper so it might come down to the 5 race . just an idea it might make it a real challenge .

ok i beat a gst in the 1/8 mile with my n/a rx-7. If you can beat him off the line you may be able to take him....he has more power than you so right around third gear he is going to pull on you. Just get the best launch possible.

WTF...How come people are saying U SHOULD BEAT HIM?

My N/A will beat a stupid GST. I have seen those things run in the 1/8 getting high 10s and high 9s at the best.

I have an 89GXL smartly modded and beat the GST 2002
220hp with an intake. TWICE .

Now a turbo RX-7...pshhhh. Dood u dont even have to launch good. Just beat him already and shut up.

Umm..GS-Ts run 15.1. TIIs run 15.3 or so. There is no 2002 GS-T. They now have the V6 GTs.

Ok ... thats what I meant. And the rx7 Turbo 11 can get a 14.8 as many people have already bone stock. I have done better than a 15.3 in my N/A so its pretty hard to belive that I can take one out with such little mods.

I'm gonna say based on all the stuff my friend with a 20G GSX that It will be really close. If the DSM has anything done to it concerning boost I'm going with him. I can't remember how high but you can up the boost decently on those cars before really needing fuel mods.

hey ryde or dye is the gst the red one that some kid from noble drives? If it is i want you to race him and kick his ***, he is a pompus bitch who thinks he has the fastest car in the world.

Kick his *** seabass!!!

when i raced him he couldn't drive it to it's full potential...he had some of the worse launches. he did beat me though, but i was stock at the time.

Uhhh...I live in FL.

Oh and the GS-T has an APEX catback only. Prolly raises his boost a little, I'm not sure.

Honestly I belive it will ALL depend on Drivers.

If both are about equal, he will beat you by a lil bit.

Like some one already said thsoe cars in the 1/4 are almost I dentical to the FC.

and if he has a cat back and all yo uhave is an intake, he has a lil bit more HP. and almsot weighs the same.

I'd race him if I were you, it wil be a very good race, good luck.

BTW I noticed you are in Tampa

are you going to Gainsville this SAt.

Also are you in MRCCFL?? if so whats your name on the list?

Actually I am playing in Hoop It Up this weekend I am not even sure what MRCCFL is, and haven't gotten in any car stuff like clubs or events yet. I would like to in the future though. Oh and where is Winter Springs?

I going to have to go with the guy who said, his N/a beat one. When I had my 89 gxl that was heavily modded, I use to kill most DSM turbo's out there. Now the gsx is a different story, but anyway's 15.5-15.3 on a good driver is what they can do, and with a apexi catback '' uh ah'' instead of 15.57, it's going to be a 15.52. Don't be scared especially if you have a t2. Intake and exhaust on a t2 with a good driver should run 14.2. Trust me I know all my friends have either t2, fd, fb, or N/a fc that are quick as ****. You can take him! Peace!

89 gxl- R.I.P
85 gsl- daily driver, just sold
87 t2 - ooh watch out

If I had exhaust I wouldn't be worried at all. But I don't
