'87 TII Overhaul Part II - Continuing on the Road
The caliper will stay as is pretty much, I suppose I could clean them up a bit but ither than that I'm going to leave the calipers alone.
I can't wait to get the wheels on, I'll post plenty of pics as soon as it happens.

I took the time to put in the new Rtek stage 2.1 chip today, also wired the wideband's 0-5v output to the ATP input for the Rtek. I setup the conversion for the NGK A/Fx so it will log actual AFR's instead of the 0-5v signal. We should be all good for some data logging and ensuing fuel tuning.
I finally got the wheels on this morning. They fit fine, the fronts clear the suspension so no problem there. I think they look a bit better than the stockers.

I also installed the new shock mounts and spring seats.

I'm going to be picking up the Racing Beat lowering springs within the next two weeks, then get some rubber and mount the wheels on. I was planning something like 225/45-17and 245/45-17 for the 17 x 7 up front and 17 x 9 in the rear. and yeah, I like the lip too - keep watching for pics soon.
They're +38 and +35 front and rear. I might use a small spacer to bring the front our a bit to make it more flush.
Thanks Datsun!!
Some of you might remember a while ago when I bought what I thought to be a TII LSD and it arrived broken, and turned out to bw an NA diff anyways? Well, I bought another one a few weeks ago and it turned out to be an open diff from Jspec rx7, the seller was awesome and shipped out a verified LSD diff in exchange. I just got the new LSD in the carrier and swapped on my rear casing with Mazdatrix Competiton Mounts.
Finally I should have a rear end that doesn't whine.

I might as well ask here as well as in the parts section, does any one have one of these things?? It's on the rear passenger's side, the rear shock bolt thing, looks like it can be removed from the hub? I'll buy one from one of you guys if you have it.

Mine was all messed up when i took out the old suspension, I guess I could use the bolt too.

I installed the new rear differential today, got it all back together and even managed to snug up the exhaust and center it with some extra rubber grommets.

Took it for a test drive and it seems to be settling a bit already.

Impressions:
The new rear diff is excellent, you can't even hear it when your driving, very smooth. I also added some of that GM LSD additive to the Lucas gear oil, almost forgot that.
The new brakes are loud and don't work that well yet, I'm only test driving so it's okay but they need to break in sooner than later. I shouldn't have to bleed then after doing the pads and rotors should I?
Suspension seems sweet except for a knocking sound from the rear passenger's side strut tower, I'm gonna look into that now.

When you change the pads you need to bleed them. That is probably part of the reason why they are sucking. Go easy for some mileage as well on them.
Scrip, you be sure to look me up if your coming to NJ, I'd be happy to let you drive it.
And thanks Fonzi!! It's takes time but it is slowly getting done.

I didn't think it would be necessary but I was going to do it anyways due to the way they felt. But you can also hear then going round and round like they are actually wearing in, I've only driven it for 5 minutes so far and only used the brakes lightly a few times.

At some point, maybe between S4 and S5, Mazda also changed the internal threading on that part from a metric course to a metric fine. Make sure you get a bolt to match.
Eek! Watch out for the Venom Injectors, they may not flow as they were advertised and could damage your engine. Search Venom Injector Scam!
I bought 2 800cc injectors... to say the least they sucked, I'm buying new ones soon...
I have the same palm or one very similar, it works but not too pretty, but it does have a back light... Good luck!

Thanks for the info on the socket size Aaron, you had mentioned that the bolt needs to be metric coarse, do you happen to know the exact size for the replacement bolt?? I've already sourced the part shown above from another fellow member and will be replacing this weekend.
And as far as the Venom injectors go, I have been very pleased with them thus far and haven't seen or heard anything that would cause me to to not buy them again. I bought my 4 in sets of two separated by a year or so and both sets have been great. Maybe there are other problems that are causing your problems??

Have them flow tested, they are known to be very inconsistent/shitty spray pattern etc..Something you don't want in a turbo rotary.
amazing 7 man were are you getting all your parts? i wanna start working on my 7 sometime soon its a 91 TII. I just started working so im getting some money now that i can put into the my TII. Then engine looks clean as hell, very mint. Im plannin a full engine rebuilt or ima just buy a new one. Ill start a post on whichever i decide to start my project up. Ill keep checking in.
I have the flow charts and I have logged my AFR's under boost, all good. I am not going to argue the Scam theory in this thread, my personal observations and experience have made me very comfortable running these injectors.
Thanks 91, I get a lot of OEM type parts from Mazdatrix or Rock Auto and source the rest from various vendors and other forum members. Just be sure to take your time and read all you can on here before doing major work to your car. These guys are great on here and will be of great help if you need it.

Yea I definitely will read all I can I don’t plan to do allot till I read all I can. My step dad probably knows everything there is to know about rotarys he had a rx3 or 4 I forget which and he was talking about the rotary engine itself and we could have went on for days about the rotary. I know basics and a little advanced material on the 7 and I haven’t really gotten my hands dirty just read allot. And I can’t wait to get my hands dirty. I won’t let you 2nd Gen enthusiast down don’t worry.
