After long read, i am new to this board and i have searched for this, it is exactly what i have planned for my TII whick i picked up 2 weeks ago.

I have not even driven it yet

Good job on your build and very detailed documentation, sticky for sure.

I have 2 questions for you.

What hadware & software did you use to read the rpm,tps & maf on your palm(during your idle diagnosis)?

where did you get the rtek7 2.0 upgrade.

Again nice restoration, i will let you know when I start

The bumper itself came off pretty easy, though there were a few bolts that were badly rusted and broke during removal, they will be replaced with new hardware when the bumper is reinstalled.

I just want to know where you get the pipe that runs from the MAF to the turbo. Did make that your self or can I buy it somewhere?

Nice look.

coolmike711,

it's an ebay pipe, just search "Mazda 90 91 92 1992 RX7 RX-7 Turbo FC3S Air Intake Kit"

It says they're for S5's but it fit fine on my '87 TII. You might have to find a shorter filter element than what comes in the kit though, if you have to keep the air flow meter like I did.

And Welcome to the Club!! What part of NJ are you in?

I got the master cylinder in today, it's the right one so we'll be getting that on tomorrow night as it's pouring rain here right now.

I was considering this already, I think I sounds like a good idea to me. Hopefully it goes well, the new throttle body looks like it needs some adjustment of the fast idle cam so we'll see what happens. Hopefully it'll happen this weekend, I'm gonna buy all the fluids Friday night.

I just installed the Brake Master Cylinder and wired the transmission and starter, I filled it with fresh oil and I'm mixing the coolant right now. I'm gonna wire the NGK and then drop the battery in and see if it won't start.

So the NGK A/Fx wideband is wired up and calibrated. I put the battery in and installed the short shift kit as well.

We're all set to start it up in the morning, I don't have the hardware for the exhaust so it'll just be the downpipe on there to get it started, that'll be loud.

Talking Oh brother....

Okay guys, here's the attempt to start it this morning:

It went pretty good, i never primed the fuel system so it took a couple cranks but I was pleased with the initial idle. There was a small leak in the turbo oil feed line fitting, that was just a loose fitting and was remedied right away. Other than that we seem pretty good, no leaks, sound idle and the wideband is working.

I got it running a bit smoother and revved it up to about 2500 rpms and it sounds so great without the exhaust on....hahaha

So now we have the fun stuff like ball joints, sway bars, rear diff, ect....

I put the short shifter in last night as well:

haha, i love the sound of your exhaust, just DP right now, yea?

but, overall, good to know you've got everything running (for the most part). you've put in a lot of time, and it's awesome that you got it running the first time you started it

i look forward to continue stalking this thread

Tried to crank mine this weekend after the rebuild. Would not start. Rechecking everything to see if i missed something. Will try again this weekend.
Yours sounds sweet. Can't wait to hear mine.

Yeah, check it all again.....

You guys just keep at it, you'll get em running soon. Seeing the work that everyone else has done is what gave me the inspiration to start my project. The help from the guys on here, especially Scrip7, is what kept me going.

I appreciate all the support and I am just glad that my TII is running better than when I started this. The whole goal was to make the car run right, along the way I learned an absolute shitload of valuable knowledge about my car and was able to make it my own, have some fun with the build.

I thank everyone for following along.

I bought the Rtek 2.1 upgrade the other day, this new edition of the rtek has the following new features:

NEW! - Larger Map and Adjustment Range 14 x 14

NEW! - Secondary Transition Stumble Elimination
NEW! - EGR Output as RPM Controlled switch
NEW! - VarRes Input as External General Purpose Loggable Analog Input
