87 TII no PS, AAS?

alright, i got my parts car to my house on wed and today it was finally warm enough to start taking it apart. one thing i noticed when i got the car was it has the AAS system on the center console, so i popped off the rear speakers and there's 2 connectors, but no AAS unit, and the shocks don't have a ****, just standard shocks. the unit has the wiring under the carpet, but not to the front shocks, i'll take pic of the towers tomorrow.

AAS unit:

also, my TII dose not have a PS pump, and the rack has no outlets for PS, so did some early TII's come w/o PS at all?

belts and rack:

and heres the rack in my 88 TII:

i also got alot of free stuff from the guy i bought the 87 from, including a radiator, 2 oil coolers and alot of misc little things. i was wondering when you take the large nut off the bottom of the oil cooler, the little spring thing in there, is that suppose to work like a thermo pellet, but for the cooler.

and i also got 2 of these, i think their the washer tank in the front, it says FB01 on it, but i cant find any matches on mazdatrix.

when i was taking my rad off the lower thermo wasn't plugged in, and just so apparently there were 2 little wires to the side, these are the lower thermo wires, right?

and finally, i was just curious what this silver box is in the middle of the pic, it was below my filter box and says Denso on it.

im sorry if some of the things i asked have already been posted on the forms, im just curious if anyone else has had the same ordeal. thanks guys.

Also could of been removed. Our cars i've heard are quite nice without power steering.

The PO probably swapped in the center switches from a GXL. All FC's were wired to come with AAS, but only the GXL's had those types of shocks. You could hook it up though with the correct shocks and the AAS computer located in the spare tire well.

possibly. o, i forgot to mention that the car has been sitting in a junkyard since late 01 early 02. i've taken out the plugs and the rear has some rust on them, but the engine turns over by hand. my plans for tomorrow is to take the carpet out (hatch was open in the yard and the floorboards have water) to see how much damage there is. main reason why i bought this parts car is for the engine, trans, and the harness. i already have a N333 from my 88 TII shell, will it still work with a 87 TII harness? the injectors, or will i need to use the 87's ECU with the harness?

that is always possible, i'll take out the switch and see if it still works and see if i can sell it. thanks for the help.

The 333 unit takes high impedance injectors.the 332 takes low.
that Denso thing that you pointed out is a Stock resistor pack used when you need to run HI impedance injectors.
some cars came with power steering, some manual. If you run the manual steering then If the car came equipped with Power steering you may have to disconnect the Steering ECU located by the driver's side foot well(search is best for that..sorry I am tired.) good luck.

so, let me get this straight. 333 uses high impedance injectors, and in order to use hi imp injectors you need that resistor pack. the part that tricks me up is that this is an 87 TII, so it technical should have a 332 and low imp injectors, so it should not have that. correct? but if so, then my PO might of swapped to hi imp injectors with a 88 harness and the resistor pack to run them. but i duno, i'll just figure it out tomorrow when i have sunlight.

misterstyx69 got it backwards:
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ctor_info.html

Since you have the resistor box, you can use either type of fuel injector. Low impedance (peak-hold) have a slightly better response time, while high impedance (saturated) have slightly better reliability. Most of the high-performance aftermarket injectors that flow over 750cc/min are of the low impedance (peak-hold) type.

All factory ECUs need to see high impedance injectors.

If you have a harness with the resistor pack then you need to use low impedance injectors.
If you don't have the resistor pack then you need to use high impedance injectors.
