87 TII just started whinning out of no where?
I was driving my car today and all of a sudden it starts this whinning noise. The note changes with my RPMs if I down shift acc. ect. ect. it sounds like its comming from the engine it doesnt sound like a normal boost or vac leak its not like anything Iv heard on the car. car seems to drive the same and seems to idle good. Iv searched some possible a problem with the cluch or tranny thorw out bering ect. but it does it all the time doesnt change if the clutch is in or out.
suggestions???
Thanks

pressure plate fingers are going to grind against the Throwout bearing......you should fix it ASAP. Not going to "damage" anything thats not cheap and replaceable. But before you go ripping apart your clutch, make sure its the problem.
Is the noise more of a wining? or more of a screeching?

ok,,, i hate my life and i just want to make everyone feel bad,,, there i said it - feel free to quote it for your sig or whatevers...
anyways, check the turbo... to bearing doesnt touch the pressure plate when he is not stepping on the clutch and he said the sound exists whether he is on the clutch or not, so that kind of rules it out... unless his clutch is party engaged all the time, which i highly doubt...
