LA 87 TII exhaust manifold

where can i find an aftermarket one? i want to get an aftermarket wastegate but i am stationed at an airbase in germany so it would be extremely difficult to port it, a bolt on manifold would be so much easier. any suggestions?

If you get a new manifold, you will need to get a new turbo unless you can find someone who can cut you an adapter to use the stock turbo. Reasons being the S4 turbo has its on mazda style flange that cant be used with any other manifold made. If you still insist on getting a new wastegate using the stock turbo you still need to find a way to port it, and you can buy a larger wastegate actuator from Tial.

One option would be to see if you can find a stock turbo for sale that already has a ported wastegate. Hell, even going with an unported S5 turbo will net you 5x more area for the bypassed exhaust to flow through (S4:13mm port vs. S5:18mm & 25mm). They can be had for $100-200, but the trouble will be in getting it shipped to Germany.

there's no easy way around it really. you could try to find one of the old S4 stainless manifolds since those were the only aftermarket replacements available BUT the stainless only last about 1-2 years before they start to crack and it WILL happen. you should ONLY run a cast iron manifold or a heavy gauge steel custom manifold, there is no replacement performance S4 t2 manifolds besides the stainless ones.

so you're pretty much stuck with it and porting the stock wastegate or completely changing the turbo and manifold, HKS still has some cast ones that fit our cars but changing the turbo will result in a fair amount more money and time. just ship out your turbo and have the wastegate ported or find one that is already ported, you can also have BNR build you a turbo that suits your needs and retain the stock manifold.
