87 TII , Bucking around 2000rpm , Need Help!

Friend bought an 87 TII and it has idle problems which we are working on fixing.

Refer to https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/hmm-problem-not-stock-tii-blow-off-515997/

The problem is now that it just bucks like crazy , as if lets say you dont know how to drive stick bucking. Its basically like surging but it revs from like 800 to 1500 on all its own. If you give it gas , it bucks then revs high and then stops.

Any Ideas?

TPS is out of adjustment or is bad. Refer to the fsm for prooper adjustment procedure.

checked the tps , measures 2ohm insead of 1 ohm at idle and about 8ohm at WOT.

Is there any way to clean the sensor or maybe fix it or does it just need to be replaced. If it does where would I be able to located one ? Checked all the local places ie. Pepboys , Advance Auto . Even checked ebay , but no luck just an S5 one and an FD one.

You can order a new one from Mazdatrix for about $100 I think... or you could take a chance on locating a used one for about 1/3 of the price. I ordered a used one from Banzai Racing in Indiana for about $30.

I just checked the mazdatrix website and it says that the sensor for 86-88 is for turbo and na since its different for 89-91. Is that true? Because then I can just yank one outta my vert.
