'87 Tii

Theres a jet black '87 TII in town for sale. He's asking $3k for it, but I can get him down to $2k. Anyway I was wondering if I should make an attempt at buying this car. It has a busted oil cooler hose, I can have it fixed by the owner upon request. It also has 130,xxx miles on it. It has new(er) paint job on it. It is Turbo, which is one thing I love about it. My friend (Turbo-Eff-Cee) has an '87 TII and I love it. I am wondering if I should even bother with this car or if I should wait for that "Cherry" to come along.....I need help deciding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on what condition the car is in. I have an '87 TII that I love but I have put in way more than I paid for it in repairs and upgrades (new paint, exhaust, springs, shocks, clutch, master and slave cylinder, motor and transmission mounts, intake gaskets, injectors rebuilt, new carpet, new headliner, paint for restoring interior, downpipe, etc.). This car is my hobby so I didn't mind the money or the time I spent working on it (everything except the paint). So what's the point? Well.....If it's going to be a project car then get it. If you are looking for a daily driver that does not need much work then wait for that cherry.

Thanks

Thanks Todd, My buddy told me I should wait for the cherry too. It maybe a year and a half but it'll be worth it. Thanks again.

Depends if the engine's in good shape If it passes compression and your local rotary mechanic think's it's a good car, that would be a great car. Your regional rx7 club should be able to recommend a good rotary mechanic.
