Unhappy 87 t2 turbo timer help

I recently installed the hks type 1 tubo timer with the harness that rx7store offered. After connecting the harness together I tried to test it out. I set the timer for 30 seconds turned off car and it seemed the engine stayed on for about a second after I shut it down. I haven't connected the e brake line, or the other wire for what I assume is the tach for the speed measureing functions. Would it be safe to assume I just plugged the harness in incorrectly?

Do you have the little black wire grounded?
If you still are having problems I can go out and look at how I have mine plugged in.
The gray wire is for the e brake and it doesn't have to be hooked up for the TT to work. Before you go digging real hard to hook that up let me know I found an easy way.
PM me if your still online and need some help. I just put mine in recently and it works great.

I plugged his in last night, just the 2 connectors. Im assuming i plugged them in right because the car wouldnt have started otherwise right? Even with the black ground wire grounded, the timer works while the car is on, then after you turn the key the car remains on for about 1 second and shuts off. any ideas?

Switch the plugs. I was told that if you have them backwards the car will still start but the TT won't work. I didn't have this problem but I got it from a reputable source.

Mine works without the tach sensor and I used it almost a month before hooking up the e brake.
We are talking about this one right?

I don't know if that is the same one, but the last HKS/TRD one I saw had over-rev protection and parking brake ground.

It would not run for more than 1 second with out the tach signal reading between 500 and 3000 RPM and the brake wire resting at ground.

bringing this back - I have the hks type 1 tt and I learned at the hks forums that the e brake sensor has to be connected. I did this and it still wasn't working before I realized I had spliced the wire into the brown wire on the tt - the grey one is for the e brake. Now I can use the turbo timer function but I am trying to find the wires for the speedo and tach so I can use all the functions of the tt thanks for the replies

Tach is a Yel/Blu at the back of the cluster

Speed sense output from the cluster is green/red

bringin this back from the dead, yeah you have to have the ebrake one hooked up. Ive hooked all the wires up, but the speed sensor doesnt work. I hooked it into the middle lower wire on the cruise control connector the Green/Red wire. No uck, and the manual has a different connector for my s4, the connector I have looks exactly like the s5 one. Anyone else run into this problem. O, and my cruise works, so i think the speed sensor is good.

do you have the sheet that comes with the timer? It points it out. Just make sure you look at the correct side of the plug and the right plug.

well its the connecting the cruise control unit, but the manual witht the timer has different plugs for the s4 and s5, my car is a s4 and seems to have a plug that's the s5. So I hooked the wire up G/R (the wire color was G/R on both series plugs, just in different places) Wont work for me
