Unhappy 87 RX-7 HIGH OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM<--------NeEd HelP!!!

HI,
One of my RX-7's Has a HIGH OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM,
I checked oil level it's where it is supposed to be,
I used stock senders and gauges, I also used aftermarket ones they read the same.

When I first start the car in the morning the oil Pressure goes to almost 110psi(My other cars oil pressure does not go past 60psi)When it warms up the gauge reads 15-30psi at idle and about 60psi at 3,000rpms. If I rev the rpms any higher the pressure keeps going up past 60psi (so I just pamper it and drive it slow<-----it sucks).

I think it's either the Oil Cooler or the Oil Pressure Bypass Valve in the oil pan. Just a Guess

DOES ANYBODY HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM OR HAVE ANY IDEA'S ON HOW TO FIX IT?

PLEASE HELP

Is this something that just started happening or has it been like this since you had the car?

It Started Happening About 5 months ago.
the car still sounds and runs great (under 3500rpms) the highest rpm I feel safe to drive it at, besides the oil pressure.

Before any one starts saying thats B.S. or its something else. I know what I am talking about.

I got an Rx-7 off this guy. The Clutch slave went out and I had to put on a new one. On the clutch slave there was a wire that bolted on one of the bolts. Well it broke from age. SO I was like what ever. I'll fix it later. Well the car started driving crappy after that. I guess it was a ground wire. When I attached the ground wire it went all the way to 110 PSI (the oil pressure). When you shut off the car the needle goes way to low on the gauge. Im guessing its a short or something. I was to lazy to follow the wire. So I guess its two of one things. You have a short or the gauge is bad. If worst somes to worst see if you have a ground lead...or a wire that goes to the clutch slave. Disconnected and see what happens.

that's why i try to keep the oil pressure below 60psi by driving slow that's also why I want to fix it before it gets to that point-->OF NO RETURN

remember I got the car from some idoit who didn't take care of it. Possibilty that the wire was moved off another bolt to the clutch slave bolt.

Its sounds more of an shortage then a problem...if worse comes to worse its your oil bypass thing-ah-ma-bo. its cheap and easy to fix.

If your car is in really cold conditions. I have heard some guys getting 110 psi on start up. Specially turbo guys.

Its good maintance practice to change the oil bypass if your car is broken. I say do it. If the oil pressure acts the same...it might be the sender

It couldnt be the sender because I just replaced it with a brand new one a week or two age ago.

I just wish it was something other than the oil bypass valve because you have to un mount the engine to get to it.

I live in a gate apartment community where you can't work on cars.
(well put them on jacks, anyway)
I wonder if it could have something to do with the oil cooler!!! they have a temp thing in it almost like a thermostat for the oil.
