87 one rotor firing

so i got my car to run and idle but the coil is only firing to one rotor on both coil packs. i used a timing light and got it timed good. then i tryied to see how the leading plug 2 was doing and nothing. then i tried the trailing 1 and it was firing. then for trailing 2 nothing. its that wierd. what tells the coils to fire 1 then 2. thanks chris

First test the other coils by switching them with the ones that run the good rotor. If they fire then it becomes a harder problem. If they don't fire replace them.

You also may have a wiring problem or ECU problem.

Did you replace the wires? Make sure you're not grounding from the coil to the plug.

lol I've done that before.
I got rid of my low rpm hesitation by tuning the throttle plates to stock spacing. It took a while but it's well worth it.

how do you turn the throttle plate back to stock position. i turn the screw the front of the throttle body, the one with a spring on it. that helped with the bouncing rpms but is still has bad hesitation. is there any way a ground can do this and how about the fuel injectors. thanks chris

the FSM can explain it better then I can. It's a bit complex.

I got mine from here a while back:

http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page...nual#secondgen

I'm not fully sure about the ground. My electrical experience is quite low.
Fuel injectors could lead to hesitation. You can check them for debris, but since you say that at higher RPM it runs smooth, so I'm not really sure if that would be the case.

I not really sure if I'm helping, but I'm looking into this with some of my tech buddies. I'll get back to you when I find something from them.

thanks for the help. i cleaned all the grounds still no help. i also tied up the 5th aux port valve didnt really do anything. i thought i would try since there is no emissions on the car and it has a long tube header on it.
