87 na will start but wont run... please help!

Whats up guys

My 87 na will startup but won't run. I unflooded it today and it started right up and idled smooth at 3000 (automated warmup right?). As soon as i touched the gas pedal the motor lost revs and died. I started it again and it started right up but just died.

wtfx up with this rotary?

any help would be appreciated thanks

If you want to avoid the 3000 RPM start up, hold clutch in, put car in gear, crank engine. You can then put it in neutral and release the clutch. The other problem sound like fuel or vacuum problem. You are just going to have to run the problem down. You should run the diagnostics and see if any trouble codes come up

Start and stall problems usually mean a major vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines, the gaskets at the TB, UIM and LIM. Searching vacuum leaks can be a real pain in the tushy.

You shoul also check the settings for the TPS and the timing as well.

Alright guys I've checked all my vacuum hoses and intake, even installed a different AFM and it's stilll doing the same thing. 135k on the motor, I overheated it a little bit before last shutdown... could it be blown?

Well, if its blown the compression will tell. Do a full compression check - both rotors, all faces.
