'87 n/a exhaust question

hey guys, silly question.

is the 87 n/a MT exhaust the same as the n/a AT exhaust of the same year? my guess would be yes but i'd rather not find out i was wrong the hard way.

thanks!

I would say yes too, but some after market exhausts will only work with MT and not AT

I think only the exhaust changes on a/t 'verts, because of an extra crossmember on the tranny.

Do you know this for a fact? And why wouldn't an aftermarket exhaust not work an an auto?

You are wrong pal. The crossmember for the tranny sits too high and doesn't interfere with the mounting of any exhaust. The only problem he MAY run into is if he converted his car from an auto to a manual, the the crossmember adapter will perhaps get in the way.

If I remember correctly, I think I used a 91 A/T convert system on my 88 M/T GTU.

May have been just the Y-pipe back.
