87 FC Fuel Issue?
Hello,
My 87 S4 N/A was running fine the other day. Put a new clutch in and long story short after the break in period decided to do a burnout. Car gripped harder then I expected and then wouldn't rev past 3000 rpm and shortly after died. Let it sit for a few and tried cranking and sounded like lost compression. But after pulling the battery cable for a minute and reconnecting it, it fired right up and ran just fine. (Was only a few blocks from home) Parked it and the next day it started just fine but after driving about 10 minutes it started to sputter and cut out again only to die. After letting it sit for a little it started up normal again. Any ideas?
My first inclination was a sensor shaken loose. Pulled codes from ECU and there isn't any at all which leads me to fuel cutting / starvation. If I let it cool down it will fire back up and run no problem until its been on for a while. Fuel pump overheating maybe? Any help would be appreciated! This is my daily and need it back and reliable(ish) very quickly!
Thank you.
