The 86 did not have any oil cooling issues or with the oil cooler. It used the same oil cooler that every other FC (including the turbos) used.
The only problems with that year are for the most part the same problems as any other year. You may wish to read the FAQ for FC thread at the top of this section.

It better be immaculate for $3000. I just paid $900 for mine in decent condition, 125k miles.
That aside, I have an early '86 (build date 10/85.) They have a few little weird differences, the early ones had amber clocks, side mounted overflow bottles, some problem with the hatch mounting studs, some other little bits I can't remember.
Overall, they are pretty much the same as the rest of the S4's.

well then that would be what, 1700 USD then? It still better be in excellent condition. I have an 86 NA, and as far as I am concerned, they have no "special problems". I think they are some of the better made models overall. My car has 258,000 miles on it, at 257,000 the original alternator died, at 202,000 the motor went, and at 258,000 the tranny went. Now I dunno about you, but that is a damn long time . Anyway, I love my 86 NA, and I hope I can get her back on the road soon. Good luck in your search.
