new pics... blacked S4 tails... :-)

A few new shots of my 'rx

A nice "body shot" (plus my lunch on the ground)

Yumm... H4 Xenon conversion (from the old school sealed beams)

My new, no longer broken, center console.. (I made it with fiberglass)

Painted caliper 1

Painted caliper 2

Blacked out tails (they look darker then they are)

1 more shot...

She's finally getting close...

The tails aren't nearly as dark as they look, you can still see the color of the lens through the tinting, and the reflectors still shine through. I had some people compare with the parking lights on before/after with the tint, and they couldn't tell the difference. But, it does make a lot of difference in the overall appearance.

LOL, yeah, I remembered reading your post about tails the other day. They're actually tinted by spraying them with some black "bumper coating" paint I had, and then polishing almost all of it back off. Leaves it shiny, and just a touch darker then stock. At the right angle they look black, and at others, they appear stock. I like it. If I had to guess at tint % I'd say 80ish... just looks dark because there's no light behind it in the pictures.

The driving lights are pretty good... When I finish my custom front bumper, I plan on adding a set of fogs, recessed back a bit, for better front illumination, as it's still not where I want it, and I don't want to go brighter on the driving lights for fear or blinding other drivers (hey it pisses me off when others do, so I try to be considerate).

edit: The paint is 4 months old, though only a temporary job. It will be GT-R34 blue when it's all said and done.

Oh wow, that car is immaculate. Beautiful.

Anyway, for those of you who are scratching your head, saying "Why do I recognize that name?", I haven't posted in almost a year. My damn tranny went in my car, and I don't have the money (let alone the resources) to fix it, and all the other problems the car has. I went to start it, just to keep it alive the other day, and now there is smoke coming from under the hood at higher RPMs. Great, just what I need. Anyway, I am just checking back to see what everyone is up to, and hopefully, someday, I will be able to drive my baby again.

hopefuly he will re-register with a new screenname, and still be around..., just as long as he pulled that tape off. ohh damn, off topic.

Very, very nice. Seeing cars like that is my inspiration to paint mine black. Well, that and my last one was black, and I miss it.

I have to agree with Kevin though, the calipers should be red... though black would look pretty slick on your car.

I'm tearing apart the suspension to put in my energy suspension bushings this weekend, I'll shoot a few of the calipers and such when it's disassembled.

Oh, and I like blue.

P.S.

Yeah, the tips are small... that isn't the final exhaust, it was just stuck on, as there was NO exhaust on it when I got the car... matter of fact, there was no interior, crappy red paint, no exhaust, and trashed 4 lug wheels/brakes.... I'll have the new exhaust system on it this spring/summer, along with the engine swap. I'm debating a flowmaster based setup, or N1s... we shall see.

It's got that stealth look. Get rid of those homemade emblems and put the black badges back on (it'll also contribute to your car's angry look). Also those exhaust outlets look dinky and the chrome only brings more attention to them. Looks like a nice clean S4 otherwise

Forget about the Flowmaster those are for Mustangs not RX7's. Go with Racing Beat or the Apexi N1's like you said or Greedy Power extreme those are some sweet mufflers. Also I agree red calipers, brings the car out more especially a black car.

looks like you did a good job...i did that to my Ford Escape tails too, cuz its black and i wanted the tail lights to kinda blend in with the car better

did you use model car tinting spray for it btw? ive found that testors works best, as ive done/redone it a few times on my Escape
