you can use 5 1/4" make a lil custom wooden bracket and install it inside that plastic container so you can put the original speaker covers on and it looks stock

stock they're something like "oversized" 7 1/2 or some bullshit An 8" woofer is supposed to drop in, but I used 5x7/6x8"s, and was able to line up the mounting holes to screw into the plastic. Seemed to be the most elegant (read: cost effective) thing I could come up with. Of course, you could make a bracket to mount any size you want in there.

8" sub is not a bad idea only prob i can think off is the vibrations of the sheet metal unless u make a bazooka type cylindrical mdf (medium denisty fiberboard) to help give you some solid bass and not sheet metal buzzing and vibrating nah mean.

I did the same as rotaryrocket7 and made wooden brackets and dropped some 6 1/2's down in it reusing the stock covers. Only problem is I get vibrations when I turn the music up. Ne1 know of an aftermarket plastic speaker holder that fits into the hole thing and still works with the stock cover?
