86 GXL no start or spark

Hey guys, another no start thread I know. Didn't find any situations like mine. I just got the new fuel pump and tank in my car, old ones were screwed. Now when I turn the car over, air is pulled into the intake pretty strongly, and air AND fuel come out the exhaust. Just no kick. I put each of the plug wires against the chassis with a screwdriver and no spark coming from ANY of them. No action from the tac. Infact nothing seems to work in the guage cluster at all except for the lights. Unless they normally work after the engine starts. I think bad CAS and/or a really bad short? CAS is connected.

One more question, there is a black vacuum tube running from the middle passenger side of the block twards the radiator. Has a bigger plastic barrel looking thing inline in the middle. It continues down past the bumper and is open tward the ground. It pushes air out when the car is turning over, what the heck is it?

Any suggestions appreciated!

first of all that long black tube might be coming off your air pump. now to the question I have no idea I had the same thing happen to me I tried everything and nothing would work after a few months I was looking at the egr siloned (sorry about the spelling) and there was a wire cut and slpiced if i hooked it together when tring to start then unhook it right when i heard it try to start it would start. I think puttint atf in the engine is the wrong thing to do so if i was you I wouldent. Just thought Id say that. good luck

engine fuse was blown. Put a new one in and I now have the voltimeter guage working. Reads 12 volts and at cranking reads 10. Still no spark. I installed a new CAS just to eliminate that and still no spark. Any ideas? (none of the fuses are blown)

Also... When I got the car the battery terminals were swapped, will this screw up the ignition coils?
