I believe what you are asking for is The wire to use for a fuel pump kill switch. When people hear fuel cut they think of a fuel cut defensor. i have one setup on my T2 and you dont need to bother running it from the tank. Its the black and white wire in the center of the harness right under the steerring column on the drivers side. There will be a harness and its right in the center. Hope that helps

Putting the switch at or near the fuel pump isn't the best place. If you do it there, find the fuel pumps electrical connector which is under the carpet on the aft side of the left rear strut tower. The Large BLUE wire on the harness side of the connector is the wire your looking for. It mates with a black/white wire on the fuel pump side of the connector.

Most people put a fuel pump cut switch in the interior. There is a relay call the Circuit Opening Relay, located just above the steering colunm. About the area of where your knees would be.

You pull the plug off the relay and cut the black/white wire several inches back from the connector and splice in the new switch to both ends of the wire you just cut. Something like that.
