86 GXL no power to fuel pump/wont turn on

Just recieved a 1986 GXL from a relative a few days ago. Great condition as you can see and was running perfect when it was parked in a garage about 6-7 years ago.

Can't get it to start. Has spark and turns over strong. But can't hear the fuel pump turn on and fuel is not being pumped to the engine. I checked the main ign fues in the engine bayand its good, i used the 2 pin yellow jumper connector to test the system, both the relay in the engine bay and under by the pedels are clicking on and off like they are working. Found the connector plug for the fuel pump and put a test light to it, no power from any wire. The relay by the pedels clicks on and off and i get power out of one wire. Not sure what would keep the fuel pump from recieveing power, if the fuses are all good and both relays click on and off. And the car was in perfect running condition at time of park so anything broken is from sitting. Is there a way to directly wire the fuel pump and just have on a manual switch? Also the steering wheel is still stuck in lock position because the key and ignition is jamed/ stuck from sitting so long and was replace once years ago due to attempted theft. The tow truck driver and i spent along time trying to get it lose. Going to replace it when i find one, would the steering have to be unlocked for the fuel pump to get power? thanks alot everyone, this is my first post on this forum.

If you jumped the 2 pin yellow connector with a boot located by the passenger side strut tower, turned on the key and got no fuel - you either have a dead pump, a blown fuse or a cut/broken wire. Jumping that plug bypasses all the "switches" in the system and should run the pump for test purposes.

Jump the plug again and test for voltage at the pump itself (don't mistakinley look for juice on the sending unit wires either ) if you've got power there, then you need another pump.

EDIT: also since its been sitting, you may want to tug the fuel filter off - it may have been clogged with junk after this time and preventing fuel from flowing to the lines. The stock N/A pumps aren't that loud so I would verify the system is flowing fuel also.

Now the fuel pump lines are recieving power. The blue wire is recieving power when checked where the fuel pump gets plugged in. I pull the fuel pump and tried to run direct but wouldn't work. Going to get one off a friend today to see if his works. Anyone know if the blue wire is the only one that should have power on the fuel pump?

The BLUE wire on the chassis side of the connector should have 12vdc. The one that mates with the Black/White one on the pump side of the connector. The Black wire is gnd. IF conditions are met.

Great. So if the blue wire is getting power and the ground was connected correctly so the fuel pump should be getting power. Ill check and make sure the voltage is right. 12. Ill hopefully be getter another fuel pump to try out in a few hours.
