86 engine in a 88 ? Not a engine swap question . Injectors question !

86 engine in a 88 ? Not a engine swap question . Injectors question !

Ok if theres a 88 running a 86-87.5 engine with the high and low imp injectors and the ecu hasnt been swapped what happens to the engine ? Since 88's are high imp injected all 4.

I have an 86 and installed 4 550cc Injectors and I did not have to do anything to the ECU. As a matter of fact, the engine is running better. Can't brag about the gas mi. I'm only getting 15 mpg.

As long as the injectors are matched with the ECU or they have resistors in there to match the ECU's expected impedance there shouldn't be a problem.

ALso note that most people agree that you don't need to upgrade the stock 460's on N/a's.
