I heard an interesting rumour from a friend...

he's a mechanic i work with and he told me that with 720cc secondaries, stock primaries, full exhaust, intake, and a standalone fuel management, that its possible to see 300+ hp with an N/A FC.

he said that you need to use the standalone to set the injector duty cycle to 80%. after doing that, with intake and full exhaust the car should be putting out around 300hp on an N/A FC. is this true or not?

to me it sounds to good to be true.

I want what he is smoking. Why would you set the duty cycle to 80%? More fuel does not equal more power unless there is more air for the mixture.

You're not even going to see close to 300HP. I wouldn't trust him if he was my mechanic....but then again, I do most of the stuff myself.

for the simple fact that people sometimes misinterpret what is said, have your friend write out how he sees this as being possible. unless what you say is verbatim, in which case he is either crazy or stupid. benefit of the doubt, i'll go with crazy.
some professional porting and that may be possible, but i can't vouch for the injector sizes. i don't know the math to figure out how much horsepower can be made with X size injectors [in this case, 2(440) and 2(720)].
i think n/a injectors are 440.. i dont recall.

i'm gonna need a rebuild in the coming months and asked this to veryify if he was right. seeing as he isn't though, i'll probably go ahead with my original rebuild plans and swap the 13b for a 89-92 13b-t. thanks for clarifying this rumour guys.

It doesn't matter. That kind of gain would be laughable for a piston engine as well...
