Lightbulb 86-88 NA & 89-92 NAs...ports/vdi issues

On the 86-88, all you gotta worry about is making sure your PORTS are opening when they suppose to right. But on the 89&up NA, you gotta worry about the PORTS & VDI too?! I know the PORTS allow more airflow into the chambers, so what the heck does the VDI do? On my friends 90 NA, I can't even budge the plunger on his PORTS with excessive force with my fingers, does that mean its TOTALLY SEIZED or something? And how about the VDI, how to make sure that works too?

The VDI on a series V is located on the middle intake manifold on the drivers side. It looks like a dashpot, with a plunger pointing down. If it is working, you should be able to push the VDI up. If you are opening the 5th and 6th ports, make sure and wire this DOWN, or open. It is a BITCH to get to, so be ready for some time and plenty of cussing to get this one done!
