the 88 won't fit directly into a 90. if you want to put it in, you'll have to swap out a few electrical harnesses...i suggest you just get an 89-91 ecu...

to tell you the truth, it'll take much, much longer than 10 minutes...not to freak you but here's what you'll have to do...take the of the engine harnesses (front and emission) out of the 88 without cutting it. you'll also need to take the door and rear harnesses out too...infact, you have to strip the entire electrical system off of the 88 and put that over on the 90 to make it work...and vise versa if you want to use the 90 ecu on an 88.
on the other hand, if you're an ee and really good at fabbing your own electrical wirings, you may be able to "splice" in the 90 harness into the 88 ecu (but not everything will be working)...
again, it's easier to just get an 89-91 ecu...it's not to expensive $20 - $75 off ebay (when avail) and less time consuming...and everything will work like they are supposed to...
