8 psi max one day 10 psi max the next????? HELP!
Ok I went to the track for the last time today.
It was a dissapointing as ever. I could only muster a 14.7 with a .6 re-action and a 2.3 60 ft time.
On a different note, there is no one in my stinkin town that knows anything about 7's that have mods on them. Which leaves me **** out of luck when it comes to tunning my 7.
This brings me to my next problem- Some days my car will hit 10 psi and other days it maxes out at 7 or 8.
I dont know what is going on which really sucks!! I think it could be a wastegate problem but I am not really sure. Also she is ideling alittle rough and I dont know what that is about.
If anyone can help me with the problems listed below I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Josh

What is the boost controller set to when you only get 7 or 8#? I don't see how you couldn't be making 10# all the time with how open your intake and exhaust is. What kind of gauge is telling you the 7 or 8#?

Not going to say its the gauge but autometer gauges have been known to be off. But with your mods and 1/4 mile time I doubt by much if any. I mean your 60' time could be better but its not bad. I say you defintitely have some sort of turbo/wastegate problem. I say find that problem and fix it and start looking for a fmic

Ok I went out this morning and I turned my avc-r off. Well unfortunatly it didnt do any good
I still only hit 7-8 psi in 2nd? It stumbled in first at like 5600 then picked up again.
Someone please help!! I doubt I am the only one this has happend to.
I think my problem lies in the wastegate but I really dont know. I need help though!
thanks

Also, you're idling rough for a few things:
1) could be old or fouled plugs
2) could be a boost leak
3) could be a blown engine.

I would say that it is #1.
My main reason is because I am running RICH!!!!!
Just because I dont have the car tunned so it is better rich that lean
I dont think that it is the engine because at idle I had good vaccum it was right around 15 which is decent.
