Question 75W 90 Oil?

I gotta replace my tranny and diff lube but i dunno what is best to use? I hear good things about RedLine. Can anyone back that up w/expiriences? The manual says i should use 75W90/tranny and 80W90/rear. Is that the best? Keep in mind i live in in MN and summers are 100+ and winters -20 and below...

thanx

I use Redline in all of my cars. For my 89 RX-7 Convertible, I use MT-90 (for manual trans) and Redline 75W90 (for diff). Redline is expensive but it is the best oil there is (in my opinion). It is difficult to come by (not many places sell it) and it is expensive ($7.95 a quart, if I remember correctly). Do I have any first hand evidence that it is good? No - my car only has 24,000 miles on it so there is little wear on the transmission anyway. But I was convinced by the number of racers who use the stuff. If an oil can handle racing duty, then it surely can handle my driving!

You can go to the website and check em out: www.redlineoil.com.

Good luck!

Dave

I also use MT-90 and I'm pretty sure I'm using 75W90 in the diff. I used it in my N/A and now I'm using it in my TII. I've taken my car to 2 independent shops - one when I was living in Portland and now one here in FL and both of the guys that run these shops are RX-7 guys (one was a Mazda service mgr) and they both say Redline is good stuff. It is a little pricey but you don't change these fluids that often ( I do every 20k).

Use Redline 75W90 in differential and BG Products Synchro Shift in transmission. Cold transmission in winter will shift like it does now in summer. Change both every 30K or two years whichever comes first.
