6psi stock?!?!?help!

6psi stock?!?!?help!

ok ive got one cat left in the downpipe and an intake and a turbo timer....why is the after market boost guage i just hooked up only saying im push 6psi is this normal or do i have a problem
please help

Well you are seeing 1/2psi more than stock. Maybe your precat is clogged or you have an intake leak somewhere but with a precat still on thats not too far off. Do you have the stock catback?

no i have the cat back system gone...its all stright pipes to dual mufflers...so your saying im just about on the money with the boost....damn mazda dealer said i should be running 12psi stock!!!! and i know fule cut is around 8.6
so is my car normal or is it a possible problem

Well stock you run 5.5psi for S4 TIIs. You have an 88 correct? That is a brand new car too.

haha yeah i guess your right about it being alittle off with the showroom boost and compression compared to 14 years off
so how do i get to push more and i really want to know what a TID is with out getting flammed and is there a way to make a home made FCD?

Just do a search for both "tid mod" and "homemade fcd." And just remember the dealer doesn't know ****. Even the 89-91s only had 7.5psi stock, not no 12psi. Remember to get fuel mods. Full intake and exhaust without any fuel mods can cause a blown engine.

TID is Turbo Inlet Duct its the piece that connects the compressor side of the turbo to the afm. and filter box. it feeds the air into the turbo.

I wouldn't recommend 12 psi on the stock T-II turbo due to heating issues. It is getting out of its range. Some people have done it though. At least change the intercooler before you do it.
