6pi?

i just bought a 87 n/a and i cant get any response in 5th gear below 3grand the guy
i bought it from had removed the 6pi acuators and wired the ports open is there any
way to fix this other than putting the acuators back on? it kinda seems that haveing
the 6pi's open all the time is like having a big cam in a piston motor no low end power.

u want responce in an rx7 in 5th gear under 3k rpm??? am i hearing this right??

lol.... that's classic....

but to the original poster it's hard to have response below 3k rpms at 5th. the n/a just doesnt have that much torque - even with the sleeves and actuators on (believe me i tried). i only do that when i go through a school zone about 20 mph. any slower and it'll just bog

yea with my old NA going up a hill on the freeway was imbarising.. lol i needed to downshift if i really wanted to accelerate up the hill.. or i could just hit the gas all the way down and keep the same speed going up the hill..

This is normal. Even with the aux port actuators working, you won't get anything in until 3.5k, and even then it's not going to be much.

I have to be going about 85 to keep my speed/speed up (SLOWLY) on a hill.
