6PI are dead, no electrical signal to solenoid

I tested my solenoid for the 6PI and it works fine when tested using direct battery power, however, I have discovered that the wiring lead that energizes the solenoid does not get any power, at any time during the engine's power band at all, causing the 6PI to be non-functional.

What could be the problem?

How did you test? The ECU doesn't switch the 12v+ for the valve unless there is a load on the engine (I/E driving down the road, not just reving the motor).

I see. I just tested it, with the engine standing still. Let me try it out again using the grease-on-actuators method

I never owned a series five n/a....but try this. Pull the vac hose off the boost/pressure sensor and then cap the hose. Now rev the engine over four grand and see if they operate.

I *think*, the solenoid should have a constant 12v on one wire, probably a black and white wire, and the operating signal is a Ground on the other wire From the ECU when the ECU sees the right condition i.e. Load and RPM.

I'm having the exact same problem right now. I just found out what Icemark said, that there needs to be load for them to operate,

so the grease method would work but it's a little more tricky because S5 actuators work in the opposite way S4's do, the rod pushes up instead of retracts.
