Yes, it's called a Dogmission.. REALLY REALLY nice, sure it's a little noisy, but damn that tranny is SUPER strong.. it's mainly made for racing purposes only, but i could see some crazy fugger putting it into an everyday driver/weekend cruiser.

Is it really that hard to mate a T56 to a rotary and make a custom trans mount to keep it all in place? I mean, I've seen a 20b conversion with a Ford T5 backing it up, a T56 can't be that much crazier to adapt.

Why not just get a RX8 tranny and mount it up? Assuming you can find one.

The Renesis has an entirely different bell housing, clutch, bolt pattern, mounts, etc from all prevoius 13B's.
Putting any Renesis stuff in a 2nd gen is like converting to a 20B.

This engine uses a returnless fuel system. Fuel comes directly from the pump with no regulator, and no fuel return line. The fuel pressure is controlled by the computer which runs a pulse width modulated control circuit for the fuel pump.

The reason I said to just use the RX8 sixspeed is because the bell housing is the same as the old motors. Look here. And read the text under the 7th picture. Not so sure about the clutch and flywheel though it would make sense that it is the same.

This gives me hope.
The guy I talked to last winter must have been refering to the clutch fitment.

you can still use a regular style clutch with them. i suppose you could shift with no clutch all the time, but whats the point?
the dogmissions just have like super syncros that are built like the tops of castles and mesh together real harsh. its just like a normal transmission with badass syncros and really hard gears.
i was talking about a 'crash box' style trans with NO syncros. all you do is let off the gas and throw it into next gear! i guess you could double clutch to make it last longer. that guru crashbox gear set says 'good for street use' but really...
i think its called 'dog engaged' or 'faced gears' its old school stuff though.
you do use a normal clutch... have to get it into first from a stop some how!
